With one of our latest updates, we’re making tagging in Inoreader smarter, faster, and more flexible. Whether you’re curating your personal library or collaborating with your Team, these improvements help you keep articles organized, searchable, and exactly where you need them. 

Read on to explore our new suggested tags, updated tag preferences, and helpful tips for power users!

Suggested tags for effortless organization

Our newly released suggested tags are part of the Inoreader Intelligence suite of AI-powered tools. When reading an article, you’ll now see a Suggested tags button right at the top of the tag menu in article view. This feature automatically analyzes the article content, recommends relevant tags based on your existing tag list, and proposes new tags you might want to create. If you’re part of a Team, suggestions will include both personal and Team tags. It’s a smarter, faster way to stay organized, especially when working through a high volume of content or collaborating with others.

Suggested tags are available to all users on a Pro, Custom, or Team plan.

New tag preferences for power users

To give you more control over your tagging workflow, we’ve introduced two new preferences:

• Custom tag sorting
  Go to Preferences > Settings > Sidebar to choose whether your tags are displayed manually or alphabetically. Prefer to keep your go-to tags at the top? Manual mode gives you full control.

• Tags button checkbox
  Want a cleaner interface? In Preferences > Settings > Article listing > More controls, you can now choose whether to show or hide the Tags button in article lists.

Tips & tricks for using tags

If tags are essential to how you organize and revisit content, here are a few ways to utilize them even better:

• Cross-search tags
  Head to Saved > Tags > All tagged articles and select multiple tags to find articles that match all of them. It’s perfect for narrowing down to specific intersections of interest.

• Automate with rules
  Use rules to automatically assign tags to articles as they arrive. It’s a great way to keep your library organized without manual effort.

• Tag from your browser
  With the Inoreader browser extension, you can save and tag articles directly from any website, without interrupting your reading flow.

• Quick-tag with the T hotkey
  Press T while browsing through articles in Inoreader to instantly open the tag menu and stay in your groove.

Tagging plays a big role in how many of our users stay organized and surface relevant content. With the addition of suggested tags and new customization options, we’re making it easier to tailor your tagging experience to your needs, whether you’re working solo or as part of a Team.
