What is the best primer for going over spackle/drywall patches? I understand it is advantageous for me to prime so that my patches match the texture of the rest of the existing painted wall. And confirming it is okay to spot prime and that I don't need to prime my entire wall? The wall is relatively clean and I will be using SW Emerald paint. submitted...

Hey Everyone! We bought our house in July last year, it's relatively old (200+ years) so it has some quirks and charms. Some walls have been completely re-skimmed while others haven't. I'm currently renovating one of these rooms to be an office, however, the walls are like the seven seas, and I'd like if possible to smooth them out myself if possible...
