I’m finishing basement ,bought bunch of fiberglass faced insulation, I went to staple it to the joist, and my old home joist are too wide to hold both sides of the paper, (17 inch, instead of typical 16 inch) now I’m stuck on what to do, don’t want to return them again looking for ideas, was thinking of just duct taping it, but would be good to have...

Like the title says, I pulled this off a curb trash pile. It has a lot of broken reed at the bend of the seat. The base is metal, so I was already thinking of weaving a support of rope underneath the seat, but is there any way I could stabilize the top reed? We just bought a house. The textured walls Make it hard to paint flush to the ceiling. We just taped the bottom trim with it being a flat surface. However, with the ceiling the paint leaks into the tape as well as an edging tool. My fiancé and I both have shaking hands so cutting it with a trim brush is nearly impossible. submitted by /u/Gratitude_Goblin...
